Toshiko Ishibashi began her career as a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) in 2000, gaining extensive experience in clinical trial operations. She joined a pharmaceutical company in 2016 to lead clinical operations and transitioned to Medical Affairs in 2021 as a Study Manager. She served as Patient Centricity Lead at Daiichi Sankyo from 2025, driving cross-functional initiatives to embed patient perspectives, and since April 2026 has served as Chief of Staff. Her firsthand experience as both a CRC and pharmaceutical professional gives her a unique perspective on the workforce challenges facing clinical research sites. She also contributes to initiatives led by the Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (JPMA) and the Japanese Society of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (JSCPT), advocating for sustainable clinical development practices.
