Ryan McFadden is a registered nurse with more than 11 years of clinical and research experience, specializing in pediatric care, diabetes technology, and medical device clinical trials. He began his career at UVA Children’s Hospital, where he provided direct pediatric nursing care, and later served as an undergraduate and graduate clinical instructor at the UVA School of Nursing. He transitioned into clinical research at the UVA Center for Diabetes Technology, where he worked as an RN research coordinator supporting studies of automated insulin delivery systems and continuous glucose monitoring interventions. Ryan currently serves as a Clinical Trial Lead at a diabetes device company, overseeing the execution of pre-market and post-market clinical trials. His professional interests include improving patient outcomes through research, advancing digital health technologies, and connecting clinical care with medical device innovation.
