Sharleen Traynor, PhD, MPH, is a leader in clinical research workforce development and training, serving as Program Director for the Clinical Trials Research Associate Program at Durham Technical Community College. An epidemiologist by training, Dr. Traynor has over 20 years of public health and clinical research experience working in roles ranging from study coordinator to clinical project manager. She is now dedicated to preparing the next generation of clinical research professionals through hands-on education, industry-aligned curriculum design, and strong partnerships with academic and healthcare organizations. Dr. Traynor’s work focuses on expanding access to career pathways in clinical research, building sustainable talent pipelines, and equipping students with the practical skills needed to succeed in real-world research settings. She is passionate about bridging education and practice, ensuring that trainees are well prepared to contribute to high-quality, patient-centered clinical research.
