Chinonso (Chino) Ahanonu, MS | Doctoral Candidate in Health Sciences

Director of Community Engagement
Acclinate

Chino Ahanonu works at the intersection of clinical research, community engagement, and patient advocacy, connecting underrepresented communities to clinical trials and helping research reach those too often left out. As Director of Community Engagement at Acclinate, she builds the trust and understanding that turn eligible participants into enrolled, engaged ones, dismantling jargon and making research appear less daunting.

She has seen firsthand the problem the field is now wrestling with: people have more health information than ever, yet knowing isn't translating into understanding, participation, or retention. A health literacy educator and content creator, Chino specializes in translating dense clinical concepts into language participants can actually use, meeting them where they already are. Currently pursuing her Doctor of Health Science, she brings to the stage a blend of clinical fluency, community insight, and communication savvy — grounded in a conviction that better research starts with making health make sense.
